E hook (3.50mm)
Small amount worsted weight yarn (approx 50 yards) in desired color
Yarn needle for weaving in ends and assembly
sunglasses with round lenses and a consistent width to the frame around the lenses
Gauge:

mc Magic Circle
sc Single Crochet
Special Notes:
Only the front of the frames are covered, allowing the arms to move freely and sit comfortably on your ears.
When attaching the wings, stitch around the post of the stitch to keep the top V of each sc visible around the entirety of the frame.
Glasses
Begin by gently popping the lenses from the sunglasses and removing any tags. You will single crochet around the glasses frames from the front, around the empty lenses, in one piece.
Make a slip knot and insert your hook. When facing the front of your glasses, insert your hook into the lens hole at the top right corner, above the arm. Pull up a loop and pull through the loop on your hook. Ch 1.
Sc across the top of the frame, inserting your hook into the lens hole as you would the stitches of a prior row. Stitches should be tight to ensure that the frame is adequately covered. After reaching the midway point of the bridge (over the nose), begin stitching across the top of the second (left) lens hole.
When reaching the top left corner, keep stitches tight around the arm for the most coverage of the frame, and work around the frame until reaching the underside of the bridge. Rotate to continue to work around the first (right) lens hole. Stitch around the second arm, fitting at least 1 sc above the arm, where you began. Sl st to the first sc to join. Finish off and weave in ends on the inside of the glasses.
Bridge
Cut a piece of yarn long enough to wind horizontally around the bridge several times (winding through each lens hole). Wind the yarn until any visible parts of the frame are covered. Secure and weave in ends on the inside of the glasses.
Wings
Make 6 wings:
Round 1: In magic circle, sc 8. Do not join. (8)
Round 2: Sc 8. Do not join. Pause here to weave in the beginning tail and ensure that the magic circle is secure. (8)
Round 3-5: Sc 8. Do not join.
Sl st into next stitch to finish off. Leave a long tail to sew in place. Flatten each wing before assembly.
Assembly
Line up a flattened wing to the center of one outer side of a lens hole. Holding the wing behind the top of the sc stitches, use the tail to sew it into place, stitching through both sides of the open edge of the wing. To preserve the V at the top of each sc around the frames, stitch around the posts of the frame stitches, not around the top of the stitches.
Line up a wing above and belong the first and sew into place, skipping 1 stitch between each wing.
Use tails to cover any remaining visible parts of the frame where the arms meet the front of the frame, sewing around the frame but beneath the top of the sc stitches around the frame. Secure all ends and weave in on the inside of the glasses.
Repeat for the opposite lens hole, sewing the remaining 3 wings to the outer side.
Wear and settle in for a nana nap or head out to mahjong!
